When Caleb Teicher calls, you answer! Caleb has been a great friend of ours for many years and it was truly an honor for Brian to be asked to perform with him in an excerpt of his work “Meet Ella”. The duet is traditionally performed by another great friend of ours, Nathan Bugh, who also collaborated with Caleb on the making of the choreography. With Nathan being unavailable, Brian was eager to step in and perform the work–which has masterfully crafted a new dance style calling to vernacular jazz and Lindy Hop figures of the 1930’s and drawing on modern interpretations today.
Dancers Responding to AIDS, founded in 1991 by former Paul Taylor Dance Company members Denise Roberts Hurlin and Hernando Cortez, is a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, one of the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations.
