Pastures of Plenty: Tribute to Woody Guthrie in Dance & Music

Samantha and Brian with Livia and Bill Vanaver

We just returned from our trip up to beautiful New Paltz, NY, where we had the pleasure of performing with the Vanaver Caravan in their show, Pastures of Plenty. Samantha and I were hired specifically for a section of lindy hop choreography, but during the two rehearsals before the show, were roped into two clogging pieces, two modern pieces, the lindy hop piece, and even did a bit of singing. Suffice to say, it was a very eclectic show that left us with a new appreciation for Woody Guthrie music and a desire to learn clogging. Perhaps the biggest highlight of the evening was sharing the stage with Amarican folk singer and iconic figure, Pete Seeger, as he strummed his banjo and sang one of Woody’s famous tunes.
